The Tour moves to the Far East this week for the Hong Kong Open. The event is staged at Hong Kong GC which is a par 70 of 6700 yards. The course is a tight, tree lined affair with a number of dog legs and only two par 5s. Accurate hitting from tee and fairway is crucial here and ther is no significant advantage to the longer hitters. Miguel Angel Jimenez defends and is the strong favourite.

Richard Finch | 2pt each way 66-1 | BetFred |
Finishing position: T8 Back Richard Finch Again |
In such a weak field we’ve got to go on the in-form Finch at this price. Fresh off a 2nd last week and a T7 two starts previously, he must fancy his chances this week. We’re overlooking his previous missed cuts here and banking on his good form continuing against a really thin field.
Gregory Havret | 2pt each way 50-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T18 Back Gregory Havret Again |
Gregory had a reasonable 2013 season and has had a couple of decent finishes in Hong Kong over the years. He’s in steady cut-making form at the moment and has the kind of accurate game that could prosper here. He’s available at a good price in a pretty weak field.
Fabrizio Zanotti | 1pt each way 140-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: MC Back Fabrizio Zanotti Again |
We’re willing to risk a small stake on a rank outsider this week. Fabrizio Zanotti has been quietly playing some reasonable golf over the last few months including 2nd at the Tour School. He’s also managed a reasonable T22 in his one appearance in Hong Kong in 2010. It’s a long shot but you never know. |
All quoted odds correct as of 16:00 on 03/12/2013. These are obviously subject to fluctuation.
