The four Major Championships are the pinnacle of the golfing year. A victory in any of these tournaments ensures a player will go down in history alongside the greatest names in the history of the sport. Below is an overview of the events in 2017 with a few ideas of who might contend in any of the championships.

Specific tips for each tournament will be published at the start of the week for that event but many bookmakers prices the markets for the Masters and British Open throughout the year so there are often some tasty early prices to be had!

General Observations

The big question is can Rory McIlroy win his career grand slam at the Masters in April. Of course, he’s got the game to win pretty much anywhere. However, the media spotlight and added pressure might be a little too much this time around. We wouldn’t bet against the Northern Irishman notching another major in 2017. Indeed, you can’t rule out any of the Big Four – Day, Spieth, Johnson and McIlroy.
