The Tour remains in South Africa this week for the Alfred Dunhill Championship at Leopard Creek CC. The course is a 7300 yard par 72 that seems to favour the longer hitters with no real penalty from the tee unless seriously wayward. Charl Schwartzel won by 12 (!) shots last year and the home players seem to feature quite prominently on the learderboard. As expected, Schwartzel is the red hot bookies favourite.

---|---|---|---|
Darren Fichardt | 2pt each way 50-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T68 Back Darren Fichardt Again |
We’re happy to have a punt on Darren again this week. If it wasn’t for a horror 77 in round one last week he’s have been well up the leaderboard and we expect normal service to be resumed this week. He’s got a solid record at Leopard Creek (T20 and T13 last two years) and we can see a strong challenge, especially if his putting is up to the usual standard (2nd in 2013 putts per GIR) on a course where that discipline comes to the fore. | |||
Jbe Kruger | 1pt each way 45-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T52 Back Jbe Kruger Again |
Jbe had a great T2 last week as is always worthy of consideration on his home patch. He’s a player whose good finishes tend to be in clusters and we can see another strong showing this week. He’s not really kicked on since his 2012 Avantha triumph but if the putter stays hot he should contend at Leopard Creek. Dial in a T10 and T9 on his last two visits here and he’s well worth a punt. | |||
Hennie Otto | 1pt each way 22-1 | SkyBet |
Finishing position: T24 Back Hennie Otto Again |
Hennie’s playing some super golf right now and looks primed for another high finish this week. Form figures of 8-12-6-2-3-2 tell their own story. He’s also had three top 10s in his last eight starts here and looks a very good bet to keep his run of fine form going. |
