OHL Classic at Mayakoba Tips

OHL Classic at Mayakoba - El Camaleon GC at Mayakoba Resort, Playa del Carmen, Mexico

11 November 2013 - 17 November 2013

Tip date: 12 November 2013

The PGA Tour has a stop in Mexico this week at the El Camaleon GC near Cancun. The course is a sub-7000 yard par 71 which can provide a stern test, especially if the wind is blowing – as it frequently does. Full Fedex Cup points are again on offer this week, although the field is far from stellar. John Huh won last year’s event for his first Tour victory. The list of previous winners certainly seems to suggest the shorter hitters will have a comparative advantage this week.

Name Odds Bookmaker
Kevin Stadler 2pt each way 50-1 Bet365 Finishing position: T12

Back Kevin Stadler Again
Kevin Stadler is yet another player chasing his first win – and we don’t think he’s far away. He’s gone T30-T19-T10 this season and there’s reason to suspect that upward trend will continue this week. He’s had four top 20s in six starts at Mayakoba and had a decent T16 last year he’s also made all six cuts in this event. In this weakly contested event we can see ‘Son of Walrus’ going very close.
J. J. Henry 2pt each way 50-1 Bet365 Finishing position: T23

Back J. J. Henry Again
JJ is looking for a better season and has got off to a very solid start to 2013/14. He’s already posted two top 20s in his three starts thus far and he’s coming up to one of his favourite events. He’s got a good record at El Camaleon with a 2nd ann T9 in the last four years. No question, he’s capable of adding to his pair of Tour wins this week and we think he’s well worth an each way punt.
Chris Stroud 2pt each way 40-1 Coral Returned 22pts for T3 place finish!

Back Chris Stroud Again
Chris is yet another non-winner who’s banging on the door. He had a near miss at River Highlands last season, losing in a play-off. He’s also posted a T3 two weeks ago. What really catches the eye is a T5 and a 4th in his last two starts in Mexico. He’s really going to fancy it this week and he can see him being strongly backed to break his duck. We don’t see Coral’s 40-1 being on offer for long.

All quoted odds correct as of 16:00 on 12/11/2013. These are obviously subject to fluctuation.
