The WGC Accenture Match Play is once again held at the Ritz Carlton Golf Club in Arizona. This is a fairly typical desert layout with minimal rough and large greens. It is a long par 72 measuring 7791 yards with four par 5s. Experience of these types of events helps. Hunter Mahan defends. Tiger Woods is the tournament form horse with three wins in ten starts.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Bill Haas | 2pt each way 66-1 | Betvictor |
Finishing position: T33 Back Bill Haas Again |
Bill is playing some really consistent golf this season. T9 and T6 in his last two starts says it all. I can’t see him making too many mistakes round Ritz Carlton so that’s going to make him pretty tough to beat. He’s proved that he’s well capable of winning big events and we can really see him sneaking under the radar and at least making the semis. | |||
Thorbjorn Olesen | 1.5pt each way 70-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T17 Back Thorbjorn Olesen Again |
Olesen is really starting to look the part this season. The course length and lack of rough should really fit his game. Form figures of T2-T22-T3 show his game is firing on all cylinders. A long hitting, aggressive player. We can see Olesen being very tough to beat if the putter is working – which it has for most of this season. Again a semi final berth is far from out of the question. |
