This week’s event is the latest WGC event, returning to Sheshan International GC in Shanghai after a one year absence. The layout is a 7260 yard par 72. The course favours players who can regularly find the fairways and greens. It usually takes about -20 to get the job done. Ian Poulter is the defending champ but Kaymer is the last winner on this course.
| Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kiradech Aphibarnrat | 2pt each way 80-1 | Stan James |
Finishing position: T55 Back Kiradech Aphibarnrat Again |
| We make no apology for a couple of repeat tips this week and we’re going for guys carrying significant momentum. Those who went for Aphibarnrat last week were rewarded with a good T3 which should really have been a play off. The course looks nicely set up for him again and we have no qualms about his ability to score heavily when the need arises. | |||
| Peter Uihlein | 2pt each way 40-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T55 Back Peter Uihlein Again |
| Peter had another good result last week and we can see him building towards another victory soon. This is a guy who’s going to be a world class player. He should have no problems with the course this week and, like Aphibarnrat, should be able to score heavily enough to get into contention. If that happens he’ll certainly not be afraid to win. | |||
| Tommy Fleetwood | 1pt each way 150-1 | SkyBet |
Finishing position: T18 Back Tommy Fleetwood Again |
| Finally we’re going for another good, young, up-and-coming player in Tommy Fleetwood. He’s posted his first victory this season and kept the momentum going nicely since. An appearance in the Seve Trophy will only have helped his development. He’s had some decent results of late and the course should present few real problems for a player who gives it a decent clip off the tee and finds over 70% of his greens. What really interests us is the early 150-1 (as low as 80-1 elsewhere) on a player who’s well capable of popping up in the top five. | |||
