This week’s PGA Tour stop is the CIMB Classic which takes place at the Kuala Lumpur G&CC in Malaysia. The course is a relatively short 6951 yard par 72 which should offer up a fair few birdies. This is the first staging of this event at this venue and there is a restricted field of just 78 players. Nick Watney won in 2012 at The Mines GC. Phil Mickelson is the favourite.

Brendon De Jong | 2pt each way 50-1 | BetVictor |
Finishing position: T53 Back Brendon De Jong Again |
Brendon has had another really solid year and made the Tour Championship with a set of great Fedex Cup results. His neat and tidy game should yield a good number of birdies this week. De Jong has been chasing his first win for a while now and an event like this presents a real opportunity on an unfamiliar course against a restricted field.
Scott Hend | 1pt each way 90-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T40 Back Scott Hend Again |
Scott is a real outsider this week but we feel a small stake is worth the risk. Simply, on a course few will have seen before it’s the guy’s with momentum and confidence who will be favoured. Hend has won two of his last three tournaments, albeit minor events. He’s had a few decent results this season on the European Tour and with attention elsewhere he could well sneak a high finish. He’s as low as 50-1 with Skybet.
Kiradech Aphibarnrat | 2pt each way 50-1 | Coral |
Returned 27pts for T3 place finish!
Back Kiradech Aphibarnrat Again |
This guy has had a very good 2013, the highlight being a in the Malaysian Open. Clearly at home in these conditions, he looks well able to challenge this week. He’s gained some experience on the European Tour this season but his best work has always come on his home courses. Factor in a very tidy T4 in South Korea a couple of weeks ago. A small punt this week could be money well spent. |
