The Frys.com Open takes place at CordeValle GC for the fourth time and unusually marks the start of the 2013-14 season. It’s a 7300+ yard par 71. Accurate hitting from the tee to the tree lined fairways is critical for success here and at least -15 is needed to contend come Sunday. There is never a particularly strong field here. Jonas Blixt is the defending champion and has posted another victory this year.

Charles has had a great 2013 and should have posted his elusive third victory. Much has been made of his underachievement over the years but he’s still a young man with plenty of good years ahead. He looks to have the game for CordeValle having posted a solid T11 in his only start here in 2012. There’s a lot of cannon fodder in the field this week and Howell is clearly one of the better players on show. He’s well capable of winning a minor event like this to kick start his career.

This week sets up really well for Tim’s neat and tidy game. He looks a class apart from many in what is a very weak field. Add in the fact that his only visit to CordeValle yielded a T6 and he looks to have the game for a contending performance this week. We this he’s worth a small interest this week.
Rory Sabbatini	1pt each way 66-1	BetFred	Finishing position: MC Back Rory Sabbatini Again
Rory is the classic inconsistent proven winner. There are quite a few of those on tour but the 37 year old South African is carrying more momentum than most into this week. Seven top 20s in his last nine starts says it all. He’s playing particularly well at the moment and sometimes you just have to go with current form. He’s managed three missed cuts at CordeValle but call it a hunch, but we think he’s going to fancy his chances this week against one of the weakest field’s of the season .
