Held at TPC Scottsdale, The Phoenix Open will have the usual huge crowds and boisterous atmosphere. A 7216 yard par 71 with three par fives, the course has an exciting finish with the 16th a tough par three, the 17th a driveable par four and the very difficult par four 18th. The rough is relatively light and the greens are of a generous size. Kyle Stanley won last year with -15 but we don’t see a contending performance again this week.

Forget the two missed cuts in the last two starts at TPC Scottsdale, Garrigus has started the season well (T16 – T6 in two starts) and we’re expecting a big season from him. The course doesn’t punish inaccuracy off the tee unduly and the Phoenix Open often throws up unexpected contenders. His game is in good shape and we see Robert adding to his solitary PGA Tour win very soon.

Four top 5 finishes in seven starts speaks for itself here. In a tournament where genuine course specialists are rare, Na shines like a beacon at 80-1. He’s a player who has steadily improved over the last few years and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him in the winner’s circle again at what we consider to be pretty generous odds. I’ve fought the urge to tip Rollins for the third time in four weeks.
