With the 2016-17 PGA Tour season at an end there’s only one tournament to study this week. The British Masters returns for a third edition, again on a different course. It’s being played at the Close House GC near Newcastle. It’s a 6900 yard par 70. It’s a classic parkland and should offer up a fair few birdies. Alex Noren won last year’s event.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Scott Hend | 2pt each way 66-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: MC Back Scott Hend Again |
Scott is unusual for a longer hitter in that he can prosper on the shorter setups too. He won at Fanling and had a runner up finish last time out at the short and fiddly Crans. It’s a level playing field this week and he could go well again. | |||
Kiradech Aphibarnrat | 2pt each way 66-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T20 Back Kiradech Aphibarnrat Again |
We think a win is coming for Aphibarnrat and he nearly delivered for us a couple of weeks ago. He’s a quality player and has proved his versatility in winning in a number of different environments. His game isn’t far off. | |||
Eddie Pepperell | 2pt each way 35-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: MC Back Eddie Pepperell Again |
Eddie has burst out of a quiet spell with a string of really high finishes. He’s 5-3-3 in his last three starts and nobody has more momentum than him at the moment. On a level playing field this week it is easy to imagine another punter friendly finish. |
