The European Tour remains in South Africa this week at the East London GC. The course is a 6691 par 73, unusually with only three par 3s. It is not a particularly demanding venue and at least -20 will be needed here. Louis Oosthuizen has won the last two but is not in the field this week. None of the main European stars are here in what looks like a wide-open tournament with a very week field. There are no previous winners competing this week. The nearest to a course specialist is probably Jbe Kruger (28-1) or Jaco Van Zyl (14-1!)

Finishing position: T15 Back James Kingston Again |
The Africa Open has such a weak field that the experienced Tour players will feel it’s there for the taking. James Kingston is a prime example of a solid pro who could well add to his two victories. He seems to save his best performances for the African and Asian legs of the European Tour. A very promising T16 in his first start of the year will have blown away any winter rust. He’s made all three cuts here with 8th the highlight. In such a weakly contested event he could go very close this week. |
