The Scottish Open moves to a brand new venue this week in Dundonald Links. It’s a fairly standard links set-up and measures 7100 yards against a par of 72. Pretty much the only defence is the wind. It’s a strong field this week with players getting some practice in before Royal Birkdale. Alex Noren won last year at Castle Douglas.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Peter Uihlein | 2pt each way 45-1 | BetFred TOP SIX |
Finishing position: MC Back Peter Uihlein Again |
Peter is having a cracking season and he’s playing some good golf at the moment. No doubt he’s got a links pedigree (2nd at the Dunhill) and the course looks a pretty good fit. He could profit from some of the bigger names using this event as a warm up. | |||
Jason Dufner | 2pt each way 55-1 | BetFred TOP SIX |
Finishing position: MC Back Jason Dufner Again |
Dufner is a proven winner and a quality player. He’s also a Major Champion and probably one of the most adept wind players in The States. We find at least one American pops up in contention at the Scottish Open and Dufner is fit and firing. | |||
Matthew Fitzpatrick | 2pt each way 50-1 | BetFred TOP SIX |
Finishing position: MC Back Matthew Fitzpatrick Again |
We all know Matthew is a special talent who will win Majors and be a world class player for years to come. He’ll fancy this with the relatively short set-up. He’s also a decent wind player and we see no reason why he can’t contend this week. |
All quoted odds correct as of 17:00 on 10/07/2017. These are obviously subject to fluctuation.
