This week’s event is the last tournament before the Fedex Cup starts and it’s also the last chance for those players outside the top 125 to secure a full card for 2016/17. Sedgefield CC in North Carolina is a Donald Ross design, measuring 7127 yards. The par 70 layout means the shorter hitters are at less of a disadvantage. The fairways are relatively generous but the greens are a bit on the small side. Certainly, the traditional par 70 specialists tend to prosper here. It’s worth keeping an eye on those just outside the Fedex Cup top 125 as they’ll have an extra incentive this week.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Bill Haas | 2pt each way 28-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: MDF Back Bill Haas Again |
Bill is a class player and proven winner who can usually be relied upon to notch a victory each season. He has a first class Wyndham record. 7-20-2-6 in his last five starts at Sedgefield is good playing and we see no reason why he will not continue that good record this week. | |||
Johnson Wagner | 2pt each way 175-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T24 Back Johnson Wagner Again |
Not long ago Wagner was an established name on tour with three wins. Things have gone awry since but he seems to be coming back. He needs a good week to make the Fedex play-offs – just like last year. He posted T5 then and could notch another high finish this week. | |||
Bud Cauley | 2pt each way 45-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T42 Back Bud Cauley Again |
Bud burst onto the scene a few years ago and has since spent a little time in the doldrums. He’s been playing some decent stuff this season. He has posted a series of high finishes. Dial in T3 here in 2012 and T10 last yearand he could have a chance this week. |
