A stellar field lines up this week in Abu Dhabi. Woods and McIlroy feature here and the course, at 7600 yards, clearly favours the longer hitters. Robert Rock was a relatively unexpected winner last year and Martin Kaymer won three of the last four before that. However, we feel neither are in the form to contend right now. Tiger (7/1) and Rory (5-1) look likely to feature near the top of the leaderboard but at pretty unattractive prices.

This guy is ‘One To Watch’ this year as highlighted elsewhere. A good first season in 2011 and a breakthrough win in 2012 point to a guy who is gaining confidence fast. A solid, long hitting player who’s putting improved in leaps and bounds in 2012. We think he’s ready to take the next step and an early price of 66-1 cannot be ignored, especially after an eye-catching 8th place last year in his only appearance on this course. |
