The Tour Championship Tips

TOUR Championship by Coca-Cola - East Lake GC, Atlanta, GA

19 September 2013 - 22 September 2013

Tip date: 16 September 2013

This week we have the climax of the Fedex Cup. The Tour Championship offers the chance of a massive $10m prize for the Fedex Cup winner. As usual only the top 30 ranked players are taking part at the usual venue, East Lake GC. As a result of the restricted field the bookies are only paying for four places and the odds are a bit on the skinny side. The course is a 7300 yard par 70 which had a redesign in 2008 so course form after that is of most significance. Accuracy is of great importance and hitting the narrow fairways will be crucial to success this week. Brandt Snedeker triumphed last year.

Name Odds Bookmaker
Bill Haas 2pt each way 40-1 BetVictor Finishing position: T24

Back Bill Haas Again
Bill’s had another great year, notching his fifth win at Congressional in June. He’s had a host of other high finishes and should have notched at least another victory in 2013. He’s only made one visit to East Lake and that resulted in a victory in 2011. He’ll have some really positive thoughts going into this week at a great price.
Jim Furyk 2pt each way 20-1 BetVictor Finishing position: T14

Back Jim Furyk Again
We’re going with Jim again this week for exactly the same reasons as last. He’s bang in form on a course that suits. His memorable 59 was the high point on the way to 3rd at the BMW. His East Lake record is 13-2-11-6-7-1-7 and that’s first class. Jim’s been banging on the door of a win for a while and there’s reason to believe it can happen this week.
Webb Simpson 2pt each way 40-1 BetVictor Returned 22pts for 4 place finish!

Back Webb Simpson Again
Finally, in an event where value is hard to find we think we have it in Webb Simpson. He’s in solid cut-making form (he’s made his last 10 straight) and. In his two visits to East Lake he’s had 22nd in 2011 and 5th last year which says he’s getting used to the course. Also, Simpson is coming into the Tour Championship completely off the radar and we see no reason why he can’t get into contention in such a small field.

All quoted odds correct as of 18:00 on 16/09/2013. These are obviously subject to fluctuation.
