The Fedex Cup Play-Offs move to TPC Boston for the Deutsche Bank Championship this week. The top 100 players in the standings will compete this week and all 100 are expected to tee it up. The course is a 7207 yard par 71 Arnold Palmer design and is one of the easiest par 71s of the year. Traditionally -20 has been needed to get the job done and Rory McIlroy needed that when winning in 2012. It’s also worth noting that the tournament starts on Friday due to the Labor Day Holiday.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Brandt Snedeker | 2pt each way 45-1 | Stan James |
Finishing position: T47 Back Brandt Snedeker Again |
Just like last e feel this is a great price for the defending Fedex Cup champion. Everyone knows about his super 2013 form (2 wins and $5m banked). Yes, he’s been a little quiet since his Canadian win in late July but his Deutsch Bank form is first class (T5-T3-T6) and at these prices he simply cannot be ignored. | |||
Dustin Johnson | 2pt each way 40-1 | Ladbrokes |
Finishing position: T27 Back Dustin Johnson Again |
This course sets up well for Dustin Johnson. With his length off the tee he’s going to set up countless birdie chances on this short par 71. He’s also had a T2 and T8 in his last four starts. We’re not really reading anything into last week’s missed cut. We’re more interested in two T4s in his last four Deutsche Bank starts. He looks well set for a contending performance this week. | |||
Zach Johnson | 1pt each way 40-1 | BetVictor |
Finishing position: T27 Back Zach Johnson Again |
Lastly we’re going for par 70/71 specialist Zach Johnson. He’s exactly the kind of accurate player who can contend and win round here. He can score heavily when needed – just see his first class John Deere record. His close season swing changes have beeded in and he’s playing very well indeed at the moment (2-6-4-8-5 says it all). He looks real value at the odds quoted!. |
All quoted odds correct as of 15:00 on 27/08/2013. These are obviously subject to fluctuation.
