This week’s event is the last tournament before the Fedex Cup starts and it’s also the last chance for those players outside the top 125 to secure a full card for 2013/14. Sedgefield CC in North Carolina is a Donald Ross design, measuring 7130 yards. The par 70 layout means the shorter hitters are at less of a disadvantage. The fairways are relatively generous but the greens are a bit on the small side. Certainly, the traditional par 70 specialists tend to prosper here. Sergio Garcia is the defending champion. It’s worth keeping an eye on those just outside the Fedex Cup top 125 as they’ll have an extra incentive this week.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Tim Clark | 2pt each way 50-1 | Stan James TOP SIX |
Finishing position: T26 Back Tim Clark Again |
We’re looking at horses-for-courses types this weeks and Tim Clark fits that category. He’s the classic neat and tidy par 70 specialist with T6-WD-T2 in his three Sedgefield starts. He’s had a solid season (Fedex 61st) and it’s no coincidence that his two best finishes this season are on par 70s (T2 Waialae/T7 Colonial). We think he’s got as good a chance as anyone this week. | |||
John Rollins | 1.5pt each way 100-1 | Stan James TOP SIX |
Finishing position: MC Back John Rollins Again |
John has had a strangely consistent season having made 15 of 21 cuts. He’s also posted some nice finishes and sits nicely in 55th on the Fedex Cup. His game fits very nicely for Sedgefield with his distance off the tee and ability to find the greens (19th GIR). A T3 and T25 in his last three Sedgefield starts shows this. A solid T20 at the Reno-Tahoe last time out shows his game is in decent nick and he’s just the king of player that can pop up in contention when you least expect it. | |||
Jason Bohn | 1.5pt each way 66-1 | Stan James TOP SIX |
Finishing position: MC Back Jason Bohn Again |
Finally, this week we think Jason Bohn is worth a small flutter. He’s got good course form and good current form so that pretty much adds up to a solid each way bet at big odds. His last three starts in 2013 are T22-T9 and a great T2 in Canada. He’s bang in form and carrying some momentum going into this week. Factor in a T2 and a T12 in his three starts at Sedgefield and he has to be worth a small interest this week. |
