With the 2015-16 PGA Tour season at an end there’s only one tournament to study this week. The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship is played over three courses in the opening rounds (St Andrews, Kingsbarns and Carnoustie) with the final round at The Old Course at St. Andrews. Carnoustie is traditionally the most testing venue and -20 or more is usually needed to get the job done. If the wind gets up it can provide a severe test – although the weekend forecast is good. This tournament usually attracts a decent field and Thorbjorn Olesen was the winner in 2015.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Soren Kjeldsen | 2pt each way 50-1 | SkyBet TOP SIX |
Finishing position: T7 Back Soren Kjeldsen Again |
Soren has had a great season with a win at the Irish Open. He’s got a good links track record and will be fancying it this week. T9 last year in an event that should suit and he proved in Rory’s back yard last May that he’s not frightened of contending in the bigger events. A good each way punt this week. | |||
David Lipsky | 2pt each way 100-1 | Sportingbet TOP SIX |
Finishing position: T88 Back David Lipsky Again |
David’s playing some great stuff at the moment and win No. 2 doesn’t look far away. He’s had some consistently high finishes recently and this week’s field is a little thinner than usual. We’re happy to have an each way punt on the talented American this week. | |||
Nicholas Colsaerts | 2pt each way 66-1 | Coral TOP SIX |
Finishing position: T31 Back Nicholas Colsaerts Again |
Big hitting Belgian Nicholas Colsaerts should be an ideal fit for this event. With the wide fairways and light rough he can reduce it to a pitch and putt. We had a nice T3 with him earlier in the season and we’re happy to have another nibble here. With the big guns elsewhere we feel he can go better that his previous best effort of T9 in 2011. |
