The Scottish Open returns to Castle Stewart after a two year absence. It’s a modern links layout – much in the style of Kingsbarns and isn’t overly punishing. -18 should be needed to win and being a par 72 of lass than 7200 yards, it should offer up plenty of birdies. Form from 2011-2013 is of most relevance here. Rickie Fowler won last year and Phil Mickleson is the last Castle Stewart winner.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Nicholas Colsaerts | 2pt each way 45-1 | Stan James TOP SIX |
Returned 24.5pts for T3 place finish!
Back Nicholas Colsaerts Again |
Big Nicholas is getting back to his best and has posted some high finishes this year. The wide open layout at Castle Stewart plays into his long hitting hands. He’s had success here before and was T8 last time the event was staged here. We think he can have a good event again this week. | |||
Kiradech Aphibarnrat | 2pt each way 80-1 | Stan James TOP SIX |
Finishing position: MC Back Kiradech Aphibarnrat Again |
Aphibarnrat is well known to our followers and has rewarded us on a number of occasions. He’s a solid all round player and proven winner. He’s also adept at the less punishing links tests – look at last year’s Paul Lawrie Matchplay. He’s worth an each way interest at this price with the big names’ focus elsewhere. | |||
Alex Noren | 2pt each way 55-1 | Stan James TOP SIX |
Returned 141.5pts for 1 place finish!
Back Alex Noren Again |
Alex is having a good year and seems back to his best after a long lay off. He’s posted some good results this season and has a promising Castle Stewart record – culminating in a T3 in 2012. Could go close again this week. |
