The China Open moves to a new venue for this year’s edition. Topwin GCC is a 7229 yard par 72 and has an American feel with generous tree lined fairways and a lot of water in play. There is no previous course form to go on so this looks pretty wide open. Ashun Wu won in 2015 at Tomson Shanghai Pudong GC.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Thorbjorn Olesen | 2pt each way 50-1 | BetVictor |
Finishing position: T15 Back Thorbjorn Olesen Again |
Thorbjorn is getting right back to his best and is powering up the OWGR. He’s proved he can win anywhere from St. Andrews to Australia and the course this week looks to set up very nicely for him. The big hitting Dane will relish the short layout, relatively wide fairways and four par 5s. He’s striking the ball very nicely at the moment and T19-T8 is very progressive form coming into this one. | |||
Scott Hend | 2pt each way 35-1 | BetFred |
Finishing position: T6 Back Scott Hend Again |
Scott delivered a very nice outright winner for us a few weeks ago and notched a very encouraging T4 at the weekend. The long hitting Aussie has always reserved his best performances for the Far East and this week looks ideal. He’s full of confidence and the relatively short, wide open par 72 plays into his hands against a pretty thin field | |||
Lee Slattery | 2pt each way 75-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T34 Back Lee Slattery Again |
Lee is a solid pro and multiple winner on tour. He’s another guy who tends to play best away from mainland Europe. He had a very nice T4 last week on what looks a very similar track at Genzon. He’s up against a weaker field this week so another each way place is not out of the question. |
