It’s a new venue for the Spanish open this week in the form of Vaderrama – scene of some Ryder Cup heroics in the past. Most will not have played the course in anger so historic form is of less relevance. It’s a 7000 yard par 71. It’s a fairly tight, tree-lined affair and accuracy from the tee will be a big advantage. James Morrison won last year at El Prat.

We’re happy to snap up this early price on American Peter Uhlein. He’s been playing some good stuff of late with three top 10s in his last four starts. Two of those were punter friendly 4th places. If he can keep the ball in play he must have a decent chance of further success this week.

The talented Frenchman Bourdy rewarded us with a 50-1 place win earlier in the season and has been playing some decent golf. The tree lined nature of Valderrama plays into the hands of his accurate tee to green game. Well worth an each way punt at these odds.
Julien Quesne	2pt each way 70-1	Bet365	Finishing position: T61 Back Julien Quesne Again
We like the look of Julien this week. He’s had three top 10s in his last four starts and looks well set for a good run this week. He’s hitting a lot of greens and sits 36th in the Race to Dubai. In what is quite a thin field we think he’s got a cracking chance of popping up in the paying places.
