The European Tour lines up in Dubai at the Emirates GC this week. Rory McIlroy is the star attraction and predictably heads the bookies lists. The course is a 7300 par 72 and the wind can be a factor. A solid tee-to-green game is required here with a number of dog-leg, tree lined holes. The large Bermuda greens are relatively flat. McIlroy is the defending champion.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Thorbjorn Olesen | 2pt each way 45-1 | Stan James |
Finishing position: T8 Back Thorbjorn Olesen Again |
We’ve had some success over the years with the talented Dane Olesen. He sneaked a T2 last week with our back turned but this week he’s going to have a leading chance. He’s playing some good stuff and T3 and T5 in his last three starts here simply cannot be ignored this week. | |||
Rafael Cabrera-Bello | 2pt each way 35-1 | Bet365 |
Returned 19.5pts for T2 place finish!
Back Rafael Cabrera-Bello Again |
Rafa rewarded us with a place win last week and, if anything, he’s got a better record at the Emirates Course. He won here in 2012 and has had another couple of top 20s. He’ll fancy his chances again this week and another victory is not out of the question. | |||
Stephen Gallacher | 2pt each way 70-1 | BetFred |
Finishing position: MC Back Stephen Gallacher Again |
Stephen has been a bit out of sorts since his disappointing Ryder Cup but he absolutely loves this place. His record is absolutely first class and form of 2-1-1 and a T3 last time out when not in form means he’s an outsider with a real chance this week. |
