This week we have the climax of the Fedex Cup. The Tour Championship offers the chance of a massive $10m prize for the Fedex Cup winner. As usual only the top 30 ranked players are taking part at the usual venue, East Lake GC. As a result of the restricted field the bookies are only paying for four places and the odds are a bit on the skinny side. The course is a 7150 yard par 70 which had a redesign in 2008 so course form after that is of most significance. Accuracy is of great importance and hitting the narrow fairways will be crucial to success this week. Jordan Spieth won last year.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Phil Mickelson | 2pt each way 33-1 | SkyBet |
Finishing position: 22 Back Phil Mickelson Again |
Phil’s had a great year with a lovely runner-up finish at The Open and a win has not been far away. He’s played some really solid stuff and looks capable of contending this week on a layout where he has a good long term record including a win in 2009. | |||
Russel Knox | 2pt each way 40-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: 23 Back Russel Knox Again |
With no Ryder Cup pressure this week Russell can take full advantage. He’s had a great season with two wins and looks a good bet this week. He’s got a solid game that suits East Lake and will be fully focussed on the job in hand, unlike some of the leading lights. | |||
Ryan Moore | 2pt each way 50-1 | Stan James |
Returned 27pts for T2 place finish!
Back Ryan Moore Again |
Ryan’s had a good end to the season, posting a win at the John Deere and enjoying a string of other good finishes. He’s only played at East Lake twice by T9 and a T3 last time out in 2012 points to a player with a chance this week. |
All quoted odds correct as of 17:00 on 19/09/2016. These are obviously subject to fluctuation.
