TPC Deere Run is this week’s venue for the John Deere Classic in Illinois. The course is a very easy resort-style set-up which offers no real challenge to the pros. At least -20 is needed to win and Paul Goydos shot a 59 in 2010. It measures 7268 yards and is a par 71. The 18th is a tricky par 4 with water very much in play. It’s a pretty weak field as normal but Jordan Spieth notched his first career win here in 2013 and won last year.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Chris Stroud | 2pt each way 66-1 | Stan James TOP SIX |
Finishing position: MC Back Chris Stroud Again |
Chris is languishing at 123rd on the Fedex Cup and needs a good week to cement his playing privileges. He’s a decent player who thrives on sub- par 72 layouts. He’s got a reasonable record at Deere Run but his T5 last year stands out. He’s been in decent cut-making form of late and the added motivation he has could well indicate another good week in Illinois. | |||
Robert Garrigus | 2pt each way 50-1 | Stan James TOP SIX |
Finishing position: T22 Back Robert Garrigus Again |
Robert’s starting to get back to his best and had a good finish last week. He’s got a decent long term Deere Run record and should capitalize on the short layout here this week. Well worth an each way punt. | |||
Jerry Kelly | 2pt each way 45-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: MC Back Jerry Kelly Again |
Jerry has had something of a renaissance over the last couple of years. He’s had some good results this season but what really catches the eye is Deere Run form of T4-T3. No doubt he can capitalise on this week’s weak field and notch another high finish this year having made runner up at the Travellers last week. |
