This week’s event is the final Major of the year. It returns Baltusrol, the scene of Phil Mickelson’s 2005 triumph. The course is a long 7400 yard par 70 with fairly tight, tree lined fairways. It’s a fir but tough test and single digits under par will probably win. Jason Day won last year at Whislting Straights.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Matt Kuchar | 2pt each way 45-1 | Bet365 TOP SIX |
Finishing position: MC Back Matt Kuchar Again |
The only thing missing from Matt Kuchar’s CV is a Major. This could be the one. He’s been in decent form of late with his usual series of high finishes. We all know he’s a proven winner and he’s certainly capable of landing a Major. The tight confines of Baltusrol should suit him down to the ground. | |||
Sergio Garcia | 2pt each way 30-1 | BetFred TOP SIX |
Finishing position: MC Back Sergio Garcia Again |
Sergio is the kind of guy who could pop up and win this. He’s has a number of PGA near misses and his rock solid tee to green game will serve him well. He’s posted a victory and a number of other high finishes this season and looks poised for another good outing this week. | |||
Jim Furyk | 2pt each way 75-1 | BetVictor TOP SIX |
Finishing position: T73 Back Jim Furyk Again |
Jim is firmly on the comeback trail and he notched a super T2 at the US Open. He’s played well since and had a good T12 in Canada at the weekend. The long, tight confines of Baltusrol looks well suited for a guy who can plot his way round like Furyk. |
