Arguably the biggest tournament of the year arrives this week with the 145th Open Championship. Troon is this year’s venue and it’s a classic links test. The wind could be a factor this week and the course will be softer than the R&A would like. The short par3 Postage Stamp is the signature hole. Zach Johnson won last year’s event.

If Phil’s going to have one last Hurrah it’s probably at the Open. He’s come back into form this season and looks capable of winning again. He’s an adept links player and his short game will be a big bonus this week.

Branden has conquered the European Tour over the last few years with a string of wins. He’s showing signs of evolving into a World class player. What really catches the eye are his performances in the US with a win earlier in the season and a series of high Major finishes. A Major Champion in waiting and well up to the links test.
