The PGA Tour makes its regular stop in Tennessee this week at the Fedex St. Jude Classic in Memphis. This event is always played at the 7200 yard par 70 TPC at Southwind. As last year this is the final event before the US Open. The course certainly sets up for the more accurate hitters and water is a regular feature on many holes. The par 4 18th is a particularly tough finish. -12 is probably going to be around the winning figure. Fabian Gomez is the defending champ.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Charles Howell III | 2pt each way 45-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T26 Back Charles Howell III Again |
Charles is a very consistent player indeed and has posted his usual string of high finishes this season. His game is a good fit for the small Southwind greens and he’s got a solid long term record here. Well worth an each way punt this week. | |||
Jon Curran | 2pt each way 66-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T26 Back Jon Curran Again |
We’ve noticed an uplift in Jon’s game for a while and tipped him up at 200-1 a couple of weeks ago. He justified that faith with a runner up finish at the weekend at Memorial. He’s a straight hitter and solid putter so Southwind should suit. We’re backing his good play to continue for another week. | |||
Colt Knost | 2pt each way 40-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T18 Back Colt Knost Again |
Colt is having a super season and has posted two top 5s in his last three starts. He’s also posted some good results in Memphis with T15 and T12 in his last three attempts. We’re backing him to go close this week. |
