The Memorial traditionally attracts one of the strongest non-Major fields of the season. The event, as ever, is staged at the Jack Nicklaus designed Muirfield Village GC. Tiger Woods is course specialist here but is absent with his much publicised back injury. The course is a par 72 of 7352 yards. The fairways are pretty wide but the Bentgrass greens are heavily contoured and lightning fast. It will take maybe -14 to get the job done this week. David Lingmerth is the defending champion.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Bill Haas | 2pt each way 66-1 | BetFred TOP SIX |
Finishing position: MC Back Bill Haas Again |
Bill is a World Class player and a regular winner on tour. He’s having a pretty solid season and Muirfield sets up well for his solid all round game. Add in Muirfield form of T4, T8 and T18 and we think he’s a decent each way bet this week at a pretty decent price. | |||
Bubba Watson | 2pt each way 28-1 | SkyBet TOP SIX |
Finishing position: T65 Back Bubba Watson Again |
We’ve got to have a go at Bubba at this price. He’s played decent rather than sparking golf of late but has a good record at Muirfield Village. He’s only missed two out of nine cuts at The Memorial and posted T3 last time out here. | |||
Jason Dufner | 2pt each way 50-1 | BetFred TOP SIX |
Finishing position: T33 Back Jason Dufner Again |
Jason’s getting back to his best in 2016 having posted a win early in the season. He’s got a decent record at Muirfiled Village with some solid recent performances. We like the look of his 49-24-6 recent form which when added to a T19-T24 in his last two starts at the Memorial makes a decent under-the-radar each way punt. |
