AT&T National - Congressional Country Club, Bethesda, MD

27 June 2013 - 30 June 2013

Tip date: 25 June 2013

The PGA Tour moves to Maryland this week for the AT&T National. The event is held at Congressional Country Club and is a very long and tough par 71 of almost 7600. The course was been toughened up for the 2011 US Open. It is important to note that the 2010 and 2011 editions were held at a different course (Aronimink) and, due to course changes, form prior to this is of lesser value than normal. -8 won last year and we expect a similar figure this time around. Hitting fairways and greens will be paramount. Tiger Woods won in 2012 but has withdrawn due to an elbow injury.

Ryan Palmer 2pt each way 40-1 BetVictor TOP SIX Finishing position: T34

Back Ryan Palmer Again
We’re not delving too far back in the course form this week due to the course and venue changes in this event. So if you’re looking for a player in good current form who’s had a good finish at the longer and tougher Congressional, look no further than Ryan Palmer. He’s having a really solid season and looks ready to add to his three PGA Tour wins. He’s had four top 10s already. Factor in the T15 in 2012 at the only staging of this event at Congressional in its current form and we feel he’s a must bet this week, especially with Tiger absent.
Charley Hoffman 2pt each way 45-1 BetVictor TOP SIX Finishing position: T28

Back Charley Hoffman Again
Charley has had a good season thus far, making a stack of dollars. He had a good T3 at the Texas Open and five top 10s in total. All he needs to do is put four rounds together and he’ll be right up there. The signs are promising – a 61 in round on at the Travelers was eye catching and he had a solid T22 at Congressional last year. Hoffman is building towards another win and maybe this Tiger-free week is a good chance.
Martin Laird 1.5pt each way 66-1 Bet365 Finishing position: T54

Back Martin Laird Again
Martin Laird is one of those guys who quietly goes about his business winning tournaments and making millions of dollars. Nobody seems to notice. He’s managed win No.3 at the Texas Open. No-one should be surprised. He’s a streaky player who knows how to win. The course this week sets up well for his solid tee-to-green game. He’s in good form at the moment having made his last four cuts on the spin – with an excellent T5 at The Players in there. He had a very nice T11 here last year and we think he could go even better this time.

All quoted odds correct as of 16:00 on 25/06/2013. These are obviously subject to fluctuation.
