This is an unusual tournament in a couple of ways. It is played over three courses at (PGA West Palmer, PGA West Nicklaus and La Quinta). All are relatively short par 72s and they were all ranked in the top 10 easiest courses in 2012. A score of -24 won last year and something similar will be needed this time around. It also has a Pro-Am format which leads to slow play and can be a severe test of patience for certain types of players. Generally the winners have been outsiders and more inexperienced players.

John Senden | 2pt each way 50-1 | SkyBet |
Finishing position: T65 Back John Senden Again |
John had a really solid year in 2012 with five top 10s and finished 37th in the Fedex Cup standings. His was the usual story of accurate play from tee and fairway and not really making the most of his many birdie chances. He clearly likes the courses and pro-am set-up as four finishes inside the top ten from his last eight starts will testify. He should have won more than his solitary PGA Tour victory and we think he can go close this week. | |||
Kevin Na | 1pt each way 80-1 | PaddyPower |
Finishing position: MC Back Kevin Na Again |
After his maiden victory late in 2011 Kevin has established himself as a solid performer on the PGA Tour. Most of his better finishes recently have come early in the season. In fact he has had two punter friendly finishes before the end of February in both the last two seasons. This combined with form figures of 8-5-30 in his last three starts in this event then he has to be worth a nibble. |
