The PGA Tour has a stop in Mexico this week at the El Camaleon GC near Cancun. The course is a sub-7000 yard par 71 which can provide a stern test, especially if the wind is blowing – as it frequently does. Full Fedex Cup points are again on offer this week, although the field is far from stellar. Charley Hoffman was last year’s victor. The list of previous winners certainly seems to suggest the shorter hitters will have a comparative advantage this week.

Jason Bohn | 2pt each way 25-1 | Boylesports |
Returned 12.5pts for T2 place finish!
Back Jason Bohn Again |
If the fusion of course form and current form is your bag then get on this early price on Jason Bohn while it lasts. He’s had a whole series of good results of late and a win is in the offing. Factor in Mayakoba form of T3-T7 and you have a potentially winning combination. The course sets up beautifully for his immaculate tee to green game.
Johnson Wagner | 2pt each way 70-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T8 Back Johnson Wagner Again |
I suppose Johnson could be described as a ‘mercurial’ player. When he’s on he’s on. And we’re seeing an uplift right now in the three time Tour winner. He’s made his last three cuts and was a solid T15 at the Sanderson Farms at the weekend with four rounds in the 60s. Dial in Mayakoba form of 1-30-MC-15 and we think he’s a decent each way prospect.
Chris Stroud | 2pt each way 40-1 | Stan James |
Finishing position: MC Back Chris Stroud Again |
Chris is a non-winner who’s banging on the door. He had a near miss at River Highlands in 2013, losing in a play-off. What really catches the eye is a T5, a 4th and a T3 in his last fourstarts in Mexico. He’s really going to fancy it this week and he can see him being strongly backed to break his duck especially as he’s had a T2 and T10 in his last three PGA Tour starts. |
