The Scottish Open has a new venue in Gullane. This links event is the last tournament before the Open Championship and traditionally attracts a strong field. The course measures just 7133 yards and is a par 70. It is a classic links layout so should be a good warm up for St. Andrews. Wind can be a factor and the going is looking soft after recent heavy rain. Justin Rose was last year’s winner.

The soft conditions will play into his hands this wee and form figures which show three top 5s in his last five starts is first class. We think he’ll piece it all together and win soon.

Ian is having a pretty decent season and has come close to winning on a couple of occasions. The conditions at Gullane will hold no fears for Pouts. He not played a lot in the last few week and that should be to his advantage. We can see a contending performance this week.
