The Tour moves to Austria for what, it must be said, one of the lower key events of the year. Pretty much all the big names are missing in preparation for the US Open and the tournament offers a very small prize fund. Diamond CC, just outside Vienna is a 7386 yard par 72 with water featuring on a number of holes. Accuracy is well rewarded and hitting greens in regulation seems to be key. Mikael Lundberg triumphed 12 months ago.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Gregory Bourdy | 2pt each way 28-1 | BetVictor |
Finishing position: T6 Back Gregory Bourdy Again |
Gregory is a good player who has amassed four wins almost unnoticed. He’s usually got good GIR stats and is a bit of a streaky putter. He’s had a couple of top 15s of late and his Diamond GC form of T18-T8 catches the eye. We think he’s got a good chance against a weak field this week. | |||
Anthony Wall | 2pt each way 40-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T59 Back Anthony Wall Again |
A fully fit Anthony Wall is having a good season and is playing as well as anyone in the field at the moment. He’s 53 in the RTD rankings and is certainly on an upward curve. His T17 here last year when out of form tells us he can contend this week. | |||
Lee Slattery | 2pt each way 60-1 | Stan James |
Finishing position: T32 Back Lee Slattery Again |
Lee is a steady player who is usually found languishing in the lower reaches of the Order of Merit. He does pop up with a few good finishes each season. His T7 at the Nordea last week was agood result and if you dial in T9 and T4 in his last two visits to Diamond GC then it’s easy to assume he might have a chance this week. |
