The China Open moves to a new venue for this year’s edition. Tomson Shanghai Pudong GCC is a 7296 yard par 72 and has an American feel with generous fairways and a lot of water in play. There is no previous course form to go on so this looks pretty wide open. Alexander Levy won in 2014 at last week’s venue Genzon GC.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
David Howell | 2pt each way 50-1 | BetVictor |
Returned 27pts for 2 place finish!
Back David Howell Again |
David is an old favourite of ours and on his day can be up with the best. He’s one of the best putters on tour and when the long game is in good shape he can contend and win. There are signs that this is happening now. He’s fired in two punter friendly finishes in his last five starts, including last week’s T4. There’s no doubt he can repeat the performance this week and be right up there again on Sunday. | |||
Anthony Wall | 2pt each way 50-1 | Stan James |
Finishing position: MC Back Anthony Wall Again |
We’re recommending Anthony for the second week running and he was only a shot outside the paying places last week on a similar course. Wall is playing some of the most consistent golf of his career at the moment and a win is certainly possible this week at a very attractive price. | |||
Romain Wattel | 2pt each way 35-1 | Coral |
Finishing position: T8 Back Romain Wattel Again |
It’s a level playing field this week and we’re going for another of last week’s picks. Fact is, Wattel didn’t do a lot wrong and is a winner in waiting. These kind of events often throw up a first-timer and Romain is certainly playing well enough to contend this week. |
