A much stronger field than last year lines up in Dubai at the Emirates GC this week. Woods and McIlroy are the star attractions and predictably head the bookies lists. The course is a 7300 par 72 and the wind can be a factor. A solid tee-to-green game is required here with a number of dog-leg, tree lined holes. The large Bermuda greens are relatively flat. Stephen Gallacher was the winner last year. McIlroy should be a factor but Woods seemed really out of sorts last time out at the Farmers.

Rafael Cabrera-Bello | 2pt each way 50-1 | Stan James TOP SIX |
Finishing position: MC Back Rafael Cabrera-Bello Again |
We’re having another go at desert specialist Cabrera Bello. There were signs last week that he’s shaking off the winter rust and he’s back at the scene of his greatest triumph in 2012. Rafa can hit form out of nowhere and we wouldn’t be surprised to see him in the paying places come Sunday.
Thorbjorn Olesen | 2pt each way 55-1 | Stan James TOP SIX |
Finishing position: MC Back Thorbjorn Olesen Again |
Thorbjorn is getting back to his best form and posted an overdue second win late last year. Many are expecting big things from the young Dane. He’s another who seems to prosper in the desert and his T3 and T5 in his last two visits to Dubai points to him having a good chance of further success this week.
Tommy Fleetwood | 2pt each way 66-1 | Stan James TOP SIX |
Finishing position: T47 Back Tommy Fleetwood Again |
Tommy has put some good rounds together of late and we think he’s due another big finish. We’ve no doubt he can add to his solitary tour victory this season and a T10 in 2013 at the Emirates shows he can handle the test. He had a solid finish last week and we’re happy to have a go at these odds. |
