The European Tour moves to Hong Hong this week for the Hong Kong Open at Fanling. It’s a short 6700 yard par 70. It has tight, tree lined fairways and the greens are small and tricky to find in regulation. The shorter, more accurate hitters will have an advantage this week. Miguel Angel Jimenez defends.

David Lipsky | 2pt each way 33-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T61 Back David Lipsky Again |
David has had a great year including his first victory a few weeks ago at Crans. His other performances this season have been impressive and he looks to be a star of the future. He also managed T12 in Hong Kong last year and looks a class ahead of most in the field this week.
Robert Jan Derksen | 2pt each way 28-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: MC Back Robert Jan Derksen Again |
We’re happy to have a punt on the soon to be retired Dutchman. He’s pretty relaxed at the moment and has played some decent golf with a couple of T11s in his last four starts. That was up against far stronger fields than this. Factor in the 3-11-4 form in Hong Kong and just maybe the likeable Dutchman will sign off his Tour career with a fairytale win (or at least top five).
Jbe Kruger | 1pt each way 90-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T20 Back Jbe Kruger Again |
Jbe certainly does most of his best work away from Mainland Europe as his Avantha Masters win a couple of years ago will testify. He’s been a bit up and down since but the short, tight nature of the venue should suit this week and T38-T24 in his last two starts here is at least progressive. His form seems to be on an upward curve and a small each way punt might pay off come Sunday. |
