This week we find ourselves in Akron, Ohio for the WGC Bridgestone, the latest World Golf Championship event. The tournament is held on the South Course at Firestone Country Club and is a par 70 of 7400 yards. The fairways are tree lined and keeping the ball in play is a significant advantage here. The solid ball-strikers tend to prosper. Tiger Woods is the defending champion but looks well out of sorts at the moment.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Keegan Bradley | 2pt each way 40-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T17 Back Keegan Bradley Again |
Keegan’s been a little out of sorts this season but there’s no doubting he’s a quality player. He’s had some good finishes this season including T8 at Memorial and he tends to peak for the bigger events. His Bridgestone record is second to none – he’s been T15-1-T2-T4 and if he can ignite his season anywhere it’s here. | |||
Jim Furyk | 2pt each way 40-1 | Bet365 |
Returned 22pts for T3 place finish!
Back Jim Furyk Again |
Jim’s having his usual very consistent season and posted his first win for a few years at Harbour Town. He’s always at his best on par 70 set-ups. He’s got a very solid long term record at Firestone and looks a pretty good each way bet at this price. | |||
Paul Casey | 2pt each way 66-1 | BetFred |
Finishing position: T17 Back Paul Casey Again |
Paul has had a super season with a string of high finishes. This culminated in a play-off defeat to Bubba Watson at the Travellers. He’s been spot-on from tee to green for some time and the putter has warmed up somewhat in 2015. He’s got a decent record round Firestone and it plays to his ball striking strengths. We think he’s got a good shout at another high finish this week. |
