The Memorial traditionally attracts one of the strongest non-Major fields of the season. The event, as ever, is staged at the Jack Nicklaus designed Muirfield Village GC. Tiger Woods is course specialist here but is absent with his much publicised back injury. The course is a par 72 of 7352 yards. The fairways are pretty wide but the Bentgrass greens are heavily contoured and lightning fast. It will take maybe -14 to get the job done this week. Hideki Matsuyama is the defending champion.

---|---|---|---|
Bill Haas | 2pt each way 33-1 | PaddyPower TOP SIX |
Finishing position: T18 Back Bill Haas Again |
Bill is a World Class player and a regular winner on tour. He’s 17th in the Fedex Cup and posted a great T4 at the Players last month. Dial in Muirfield form of T4 and T8 and we think he’s a rock solid each way bet this week at a pretty decent price. | |||
Charley Hoffman | 2pt each way 40-1 | PaddyPower TOP SIX |
Finishing position: WD Back Charley Hoffman Again |
Charley is on a roll at the moment. He rewarded our followers with a T2 place win at the weekend and we think he’s worth a punt again this week. He’s a great ball striker which is what Muirfield Village demands and his confidence is sky high right now. He’s got a steady Memorial record but posted T19 last year and is in far better form coming into this week. | |||
Rory Sabbatini | 2pt each way 100-1 | PaddyPower TOP SIX |
Finishing position: T24 Back Rory Sabbatini Again |
Rory has had a solid season and sits 59th in the Fedex Cup. He’s in solid cut making form with a few high finishes thrown in with T6 and T10 in his last four starts. What catches our eye is the fact that Sabbatini simply loves Muirfield Village. 6/7 in cuts made and five top 20s is very impressive. The icing on the cake is his T2 in 2012. If you’re looking for a long shot with a chance this week then the erratic South African is surely it. |
