The Tour moves to Texas this week and to Fort Worth’s Colonial CC. This is one of the oldest established and traditional tournaments of the year. The course itself is a 7200 yard par 70 and certainly favours the straight hitters. The fairways are relatively narrow and tree lined, although the rough isn’t particularly punishing. As ever in Texas, the wind can be a significant factor. Boo Weekley was last year’s winner.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
John Senden | 2pt each way 66-1 | BetVictor |
Finishing position: MC Back John Senden Again |
John is the classic straight hitter who struggles when he finds the green. He’s been putting a lot better the last year or so and he’s in good form right now. He made the quarter finals at the WGC and posted a cracking T8 at The Players. He’s got a solid Colonial record. | |||
Chris Stroud | 2pt each way 80-1 | BetVictor |
Finishing position: MC Back Chris Stroud Again |
We think Chris is a very promising player who may well win in 2015. He seems to be a par 70 specialist and his best result do far was a play of defeat at River Highlands in 2013. He’s had a steady season but comes into our thinking again this week with Colonial form of 13-7-14. | |||
Charley Hoffman | 2pt each way 40-1 | BetVictor |
Finishing position: T10 Back Charley Hoffman Again |
Charley has had a stellar season with a win and a string of high finishes. He’s a good par 70 player as his win at Mayakoba will testify and he could go well again this week. He’s managed T13 and T18 in his last three visits to Colonial and h’s confidence his higher now. We see no reason why he can’t pop up in the paying places come Sunday. |
