New name but the same venue. Redstone GC has been renamed Golf Club of Houston (Tournament) due to a change of ownership. It’s a 7457 yard par 72 with fast bent grass greens and it’s certainly a good warm up event for the US Masters. In fact many of the top players who really fancy a Green Jacket will be conscious of not peaking too soon. Matt Jones is the defending champion this week.

Jason is a steadily improving player who’s certainly moving towards a first win. He’s had a really solid season thus far with a number of high finishes. His T9 here in 2012 catches the eye and we’re happy to think he can challenge for victory No. 1 this week with some of the bigger players with their minds elsewhere.

As we all know Sergio is a World Class player. He’s had a steady year so far with a T4 at Riviera a month ago the highlight. As a result he’s at a pretty arractive price. What interests us is last year’s T3 in Houston and we think that’s a green light to have a punt on Garcia this week.

Hunter has been a little quiet of late but is a proven winner and arrives here under the radar. He’s got a solid all round game and his record in Houston is first rate with four top 10s in his last eight starts, culminating in his 2012 win. We’re happy to have a small each way punt at these odds on a quality player.
