The Northern Trust Open takes place at the usual venue of Riviera Country Club, a long standing and prestigious venue. The course is a 7279 yard par 71 with three par 5s. The holes are tight, tree-lined with small greens. Accurate hitters and good shot-makers are favoured here and the course sets up well for players who fade the ball. It is certainly a venue that doesn’t favour the ‘Bombers’ on tour. Generally speaking the more experienced players prosper here. John Merrick was the shock winner last year.

Bill is a great player and regular winner on Tour. He’s already landed the Humana Challenge this season and looks primed for more success. He’s had T19 since then and we like the look of his Riviera stats. 12-1-3-23 in four starts is first class and it’s a brave man who would bet against Bill being in the mix this time around.

The talented Korean proudly sits 7th in the Fedex Cup, mainly thanks to a win in the Frys.com Open. He’s had two other top 10s since and looks to be adding a bit of consistency to his game. That’s a green light for us to get on board this week. His form here is T8-T12 which indicates he can prosper round the tight confines of Riviera.
J. B. Holmes	2pt each way 50-1	Stan James	Finishing position: T22 Back J. B. Holmes Again
J. B. Is a talented player who’s form tends to come in lumps. He’s in the middle of a good spell right now. He lost a play-off at Torrey Pines a couple of weeks ago but seems not to have suffered a hangover. We were impressed by his T10 at Pebble Beach on Sunday. Dial in good Riviera form of five top 12s in his last seven starts and we’re happy to put him forward for recommendation this week.
