This week’s PGA Tour stop is TPC Summerlin, just outside Las Vegas. The course is a typical desert/resort layout with wide fairways and large, flat, receptive greens. Low scoring is the order of the day so good iron players and putters tend to gravitate to the top of the leaderboard. Normally at least -20 is needed to contend here on this 7243 yard par 71 course. Webb Simpson is the defending champion.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Cameron Tringale | 2pt each way 55-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T27 Back Cameron Tringale Again |
We’re not over interested in the higher names on the bookmakers lists for this one (16-1 Matsuyama) so we’re delving a little lower down the field. None of the Web.com graduates appeal yet. Cameron Tringale is in the winner about to happen category and we’re happy to have a go with him for the second week running. His game’s in decent nick and T26. He’s managed a T11 at Summerlin a few years ago and after a good end to last season his confidence is pretty high. We’re happy to have a small each way nibble. | |||
Charley Hoffman | 2pt each way 55-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T22 Back Charley Hoffman Again |
Charley has had a really solid 2013-14 season and will be looking to kick on some more. He’s got a really solid record at The Shriners with three top six finishes in the last eight events including a T4 last year. He’s a player who certainly has his favourite courses and a win this week is not out of the question. | |||
Charles Howell III | 2pt each way 60-1 | SkyBet |
Finishing position: T27 Back Charles Howell III Again |
We’re happy to have a small punt on Charles this week. He’s got a good Summerlin record an his solid tee to green game should set up a number of birdie chances. He tends to go best after a break and having had over a month off he should be ready to go. A small each way interest could pay dividends come Sunday evening. |
