This week we have the climax of the Fedex Cup. The Tour Championship offers the chance of a massive $10m prize for the Fedex Cup winner. As usual only the top 30 ranked players are taking part at the usual venue, East Lake GC. As a result of the restricted field the bookies are only paying for four places and the odds are a bit on the skinny side. The course is a 7150 yard par 70 which had a redesign in 2008 so course form after that is of most significance. Accuracy is of great importance and hitting the narrow fairways will be crucial to success this week. Henrik Stenson triumphed last year but hasn’t made the field this time.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Bill Haas | 2pt each way 28-1 | PaddyPower |
Finishing position: 16 Back Bill Haas Again |
We’re happy to go on Bill for a second successive week. He’s had a really consistent year with a string of high finishes. T2-T15-T9-T16 is good playing of late and Haas will fancy his chances on a course where he had his biggest triumph. | |||
Jimmy Walker | 2pt each way 40-1 | BetVictor |
Finishing position: T17 Back Jimmy Walker Again |
We’re going for one East Lake debutant this week in the form of Jimmy Walker. The long time Fedex Cup leaser has had a great season with three wins. He’ll be super-keen to perform well here just before his Ryder Cup debut. He’s playing some decent golf with T9-T7-T20 in his last four starts and is flying under the radar nicely coming into this week. | |||
Webb Simpson | 2pt each way 40-1 | Coral |
Finishing position: T23 Back Webb Simpson Again |
Webb has had an up and down season but he rewarded our followers with a 40-1 place at last year’s Tour Championship and his form of 22-5-4 at East Lake is pretty good. He’s had a T5 and T9 in his last four starts and offers as good value as anyone this week. |
