This week’s event is the final (and least prestigious) Major of the year. Valhalla GC in Louisville, Kentucky is the venue. The course played host to the 200 US PGA and 2008 Ryder Cup so course form is patchy at best. It’s a 7458 yard par 71 with a number of lengthy par 4s. Long, accurate driving would seem to be an advantage. 99 of the World’s top 100 are due to be in attendance (no Dustin Johnson). Jason Dufner defends.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Keegan Bradley | 2pt each way 33-1 | PaddyPower TOP SIX |
Finishing position: MC Back Keegan Bradley Again |
We’re happy to put Keegan forward as our prime tip this week. Simply, he’s a World Class player, he’s got a great PGA record and he’s playing some good golf at the moment. T4 at the Bridgestone could have been better but he’s coming into Valhalla with momentum. He’s absolutely desperate to make the Ryder Cup team and this is his last chance at an automatic place. Nobody will be trying harder this week. | |||
Ryan Moore | 2pt each way 80-1 | PaddyPower TOP SIX |
Finishing position: T41 Back Ryan Moore Again |
One player who will fly under the radar is Ryan Moore. Fact is the all round game is tip top right now and stats bear this out. 14th in Driving Accuracy, 9th in GIR and 12th in Birdie Average kind of says it all. The all round form is great with figures of 5-7-12-8 spread over a wide variety of different venues. We think Moore can contend this week in an event with has a habit of throwing up first time Major champions. | |||
Marc Leishman | 2pt each way 50-1 | PaddyPower TOP SIX |
Finishing position: T47 Back Marc Leishman Again |
Marc’s having a great season and has really stepped up a level in 2014. He’s a heady 26th on the Fedex Cup ranking and rewarded our followers with a 50-1 place win earlier in the season. 11-8-MC-5-3 is great playing in the recent past. We think he’s well capable of popping up here with confidence at a high. |
