After the excitement of the US Open the Tour heads to Conneticut to for the Travelers Championship. As ever, the event is held at TPC River Highlands. The course is very short at 6841 yards and consistently ranks as the easiest par 70 of the year. Making birdies is the name of the game here and -15 to -18 should be needed for victory. Ken Duke was last year’s surprise victor.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Ryan Moore | 2pt each way 33-1 | Bet365 |
Returned 8.25pts for T5 place finish!
Back Ryan Moore Again |
Ryan Moore was one of our picks here last year and nearly delivered a pay out when T7. His long term record at River Highlands is excellent (four top 10s in eight starts). He’s had a good season so far with a win already. No question, he has the game to win here and the early 33-1 should be gobbled up. | |||
Charley Hoffman | 2pt each way 50-1 | PaddyPower |
Finishing position: T26 Back Charley Hoffman Again |
Charley is another player who’s having a decent time of it in 2014. He’s very much a player who excels on his favoured courses and this is one of them. He’s T2 and T7 in his last two visits here. He’s in solid cut making form and has posted a few high finishes this season. It’s easy to imagine another one this week. | |||
Chris Stroud | 1pt each way 70-1 | Bet365 |
Finishing position: T18 Back Chris Stroud Again |
Chris is an up and coming player who excels on the shorter par 70 layouts. Most of his high finishes have been on these types of layouts. He was second here last year, losing in a play-off and his long term Travelers form is excellent. He’s had some good results this season and his T14 a few weeks ago at Colonial was another par 70. At this price we’re happy to have a punt this week. |
