The PGA Tour moves to North Carolina this week for a stop at Quail Hollow GC. This is one of the most highly rated courses of the year and there is a predictably strong field for the event. At 7442 yards with light rough, the course certainly favours the longer hitters. Finding plenty of greens in regulation is a pre-requisite for a good week and Quali Hallow certainly has a reputation as a ball striker’s course. Derek Ernst was last year’s shock winner.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Jonas Blixt | 2pt each way 55-1 | Stan James 1/4 ODDS TOP SIX |
Finishing position: MC Back Jonas Blixt Again |
Jonas Blixt is maturing into a really solid player and has quietly amassed two wins in the very recent past. He had a great run at the Masters and confidence will be high right now after a great T2. Factor in a T9 in one of his only two starts here and we think it’s worth gambling that the golden glow of the Masters carries him into contention this week. | |||
Webb Simpson | 2pt each way 45-1 | PaddyPower TOP SIX |
Finishing position: T38 Back Webb Simpson Again |
Webb’s having a great year and is the kind of player who can contend pretty much anywhere. He’s already posted a win this season and his Quail Hollow form catches the eye. T21 and T4 in his last three starts is handy and he’ll be happy coming into this event under the radar and a pretty big price. He’s got to be worth a punt this week at 50-1+. | |||
Kevin Na | 2pt each way 66-1 | PaddyPower TOP SIX |
Finishing position: T18 Back Kevin Na Again |
We’re ignoring Kevin’s missed cut last time out and happy to recommend him this week. He’s been in great form this season and win No. 2 doesn’t look far off to us. He’s also got some useful Quail Hollow form (T14 and T5 in his last three starts) and this price is simply too big to ignore. |
