This event is played over two courses at Torrey Pines GC in California. One round is played over the shorter North Course and three over the more challenging South Course. The cream often rises to the top here – Tiger Woods is the main course specialist. A good score on the North Course is an important factor for a good week. Tiger defends and he is the red hot favourite once again.

Bill is a class player with five career wins. He traditionally has a strong start to the season and he had a good T6 at the Humana last week. No question, we can see a big finish this week on a course he knows and likes. He’s had three straight top 10s and there is no reason to think he won’t go well again this week.
Justin Leonard	1pt each way 125-1	Coral	Finishing position: T28 Back Justin Leonard Again
We’re thinking Justin Leonard can sneak into the top five for the second week running. He’s taken a leaf out of Steve Stricker’s book and is playing a reduced schedule and concentrating on the events where he thinks he can contend. He’s at Torrey Pines for a reason. The putting and wedge play is as good as ever and we have no doubt that Leonard can win on the right course. He’s had a T5 and T8 in his last three visits here and is coming into the tournament with some momentum this week. The current 125-1 is going to be quickly snapped up!
Hunter Mahan	2pt each way 45-1	Stan James	Finishing position: T47 Back Hunter Mahan Again
We rate Hunter Mahan highly at Bettingtips4golf and he just edged Nick Watney as our last pick. He should be re-energised after a winter break and usually starts the season well. Mahan absolutely goes well after a break and we have no qualms about tipping him this week. He’s got a good recent Torrey Pines record (T6-T6-T15 and 6/6 in cuts) and the course sets up well for his rock solid ball striking game. Hunter is well overdue another Tour victory and he’s well worth a punt at this price.
