The Scottish Open has a new venue in Royal Aberdeen. This links event is the last tournament before the Open Championship and traditionally attracts a strong field. The course measures just 6867 yards and is a par 71. It is a classic links layout so should be a good warm up for Hoylake. Wind can be a factor but the forecast this week is dry and sunny. Phil Mickelson was last year’s winner en route to Open Championship glory.
Name | Odds | Bookmaker | |
---|---|---|---|
Ross Fisher | 2pt each way 80-1 | Stan James TOP SIX |
Finishing position: MC Back Ross Fisher Again |
We think Ross Fisher offers real value this week. He’s a proven winner and consistent performer on the European Tour, having notched his fifth career title at the Tshwane Open earlier in the season. He’s had some handy results recently (T8 Irish and T15 Spain) and has even made his last eight Scottish Open cuts with a couple of top 10s thrown in. Well worth a small each way nibble this week. | |||
Stephen Gallacher | 2pt each way 50-1 | Stan James TOP SIX |
Returned 20.75pts for T4 place finish!
Back Stephen Gallacher Again |
Stephen has had another good year, successfully defending his Dubai Desert Classic title. He’s also had a T5, T2 and T18 in his last five starts. Gallacher is certainly establishing himself on tour as a leading player these days. As a Scot born and bred he’ll have no problems handling the classic links nature this week. With no course form to go on Stephen Gallacher looks a very nice each way bet at these odds. | |||
Simon Dyson | 1pt each way 100-1 | SkyBet TOP SIX |
Finishing position: T35 Back Simon Dyson Again |
Simon is slowly working his way back to form and could be a factor this week. He’s quietly put together two punter friendly finishes in his last five starts. Fit and healthy once again, Dyson never lacks self belief and we can see him contending this week at big odds. He’s well worth a small stake to find out. |
