Le Golf National just outside Paris is this week’s venue and the course will also play host to the 2018 Ryder Cup. There is a decent field this week, attracted by the good prize money on offer and keen to warm up for The Open. The course is a par 71 of 7300 yards and the rough has been allowed to grow longer in recent years. Water features on a number of holes. Graeme McDowell is the defending Champ.

Certainly not our most original pick but Rafa has rewarded our followers with 100-1 and 50-1 place wins this season. Last week’s losing play off should have boosted his confidence with his fast finish just to get there. His French Open form is patchy (T29 last year his best effort) but the fact is he’s playing as consistent golf as anyone at the moment. We have predicted a Cabrera Bello victory for most of the season and it may happen this week.

Gregory is our home grown pick and French players have a habit of doing well in their own back yard. What alerts us to Havret’s chances is his T2 last week. He has a habit of finding form quickly and holding it for a few weeks. His good play should carry over into his home event and he’s had a few decent results over the years at Le Golf National. We think he’s worth a small punt at this price.

Jaidee has had a solid season and only missed out on a play-off last week in Germany by a solitary shot. He’s talked about being happy with his game and as a proven winner could easily contend this week. He’s had a T26 and T15 in his last three French Open starts and is coming into this week in fine fettle.
