The Tour moves to Austria for what, it must be said, one of the lower key events of the year. Pretty much all the big names are missing in preparation for the US Open and the tournament offers a very small prize fund. Diamond CC, just outside Vienna is a 7386 yard par 72 with water featuring on a number of holes. Accuracy is well rewarded and hitting greens in regulation seems to be key. Damien is having a tough season but is still capapble of posting high finishes with his season’s best T9 in the African Open. He’s not up against a great field this week and Lyoness form of 6-MC-26-14 is worth a small punt at these odds.

Zanotti is definitely a player on the up and his T3 in the Madeira Island Open and impressive T16 at Wentworth marks him out as a man to watch this week. It’s course debut for him this week but he’s pretty accurate off tee and fairway. If the putting holds up he should be in the mix come Sunday.

Brett is a mercurial kind of player who is widely accepted to have one of the best short games in golf. He’s been in and out this season but can find form from nowhere and is a proven winner. He’s here at such a lowly ranked tournament for a reason – an opportunity to get his season firing and we’re happy to have a small punt on a guy who, when on song, is a class apart from most here this week.
